                                                   I

                                   Cultus Adeptum

The Empire supposes a negation and a certainty: We often believe that we
have abandoned such ancient religious enthusiasms as the devotion to sacred
space in our predominantly secularist and scientific world, but it seems that a
fierce loyalty to the holy places can still inspire aggression and violence, just
as it did at the time of the crusades. Before the Crusaders arrived in Jerusalem
on July 1099 and savagely butchered some 40,000 of its Jewish and Muslim
inhabitants, Jews, Christians and Muslims had lived together there under
Islamic rule in relative harmony for 460 years – almost half a millennium.
                                                                                  1

Cultus Adeptum – Obtained Culture; Cultural Assimilation or Culture
                    of Genocide

Cultural Assimilation: The process by which people adopt a new
culture also called Acculturation; Genocide: The deliberate killing of a

large group of people, especially those of a particular nation or ethnic
group. Origin - the 1940s: from Greek genos.
